Winter St.–In honor of the 92nd anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment, giving women the right to vote. AAUW and the League of Women Voters of Delaware County are holding a joint meeting. The guest speaker is Marlene Carson, Executive Director of Rahab’s Hideaway in Columbus, a shelter for women and girls who have been rescued from trafficking. The meeting is free and open, but a response is requested for purposes of knowing how many to plan for refreshments. Turning Point has been serving domestic violence victims and their families for more than 30 years in Crawford, Delaware, Marion, Morrow, Union and Wyandot Counties. Dakota Daniel, a camper from Delaware, will relate her experiences at last summer’s Be Wise Camp, and Rush Rogers, a Be Wise Instructor from the AAUW Worthington Branch, will speak about Be Wise Camp and how it fits in with the AAUW emphasis on the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Education) initiative.
